Mitre Rocks wines

Mitre Rocks focuses entirely on single-vineyard Pinot Noir, grown and crafted on our Central Otago vineyard to achieve distinctive depth and character. The result is a limited yield of high-calibre Pinot Noir with heightened intensity and complexity.

Mitre Rocks Pinot Noir unflinchingly expresses the peculiarities of our vineyard terroir.

For instance, the combination of soils, climate and location of our vineyard laces the Pinot Noir grown here with a distinctive herbaceous strand. We see it as providing an intriguing edge to the wine, so we don’t seek to moderate this feature during the winemaking process. Instead, winemaker Carol Bunn applies only a few bold strokes to throw the individual quality of the wine into bold relief.
